Vulnerability to Climate Change of “Giant Squid” (Thysanoteuthis rhombus) Fishery in Marinduque, Philippines

The Philippine fisheries sector has been affected by the impacts of climate change. Vulnerability to change pertains a natural system's ability cope with negative change, variability, and extremes. Assessment (VA) provides framework for evaluation over broad range systems. Tools such as Fisheries Tool (Fish Vool) have developed do VA. "giant squid" diamondback (Thysanoteuthis rhombus) fishery in province Marinduque is an essential source food livelihood area. However, its vulnerability not assessed. In this study, Gasan, Marinduque, was assessed using Fish Vool. Results revealed that overall high, where both sensitivity adaptive capacity are medium while exposure high. Overall, study provided better understanding vis-à-vis information future management conservation province.
